Lone Cypress Landscape Quilt Pattern

Regular price $20.99 $0.00

Envision taking a moment to watch the sun go down along the 17 Mile Hwy of the California coast near Monterey. The lone cypress tree is an iconic part of that area of California.

This quilt pattern features a silhouette of a cypress tree in front of a brilliant orange/red/yellow sunset sky. The pattern will guide you through the process on how to give the tree that lacy look -that "how'd you do that" look. You can make this quilt with my detailed step-by-step directions.

This mixed-media landscape quilt uses fabric, fusible web, and fabric paint (available at Dharma Trading Company or other paint supply stores). The pattern is full-sized (so no need to have to make another trip to your local copy shop or added expense to enlarge).

If you don't want to deal with paint black fabric and lace is an option. Borders can easily be added if you choose to do so. I suggest using Lite Steam-a-Seam 2 fusible web for this project (4 to 6 yards).

  • Style: Landscape art quilt
  • Technique used: Fusible raw edge applique suggested. Fabric painting using black Jacquard fabric paint or acrylic paint.
  • Finished Quilt Size: 30"H x 36"W (without borders)
  • Difficulty: advanced beginner to intermediate
  • Other: Fabric kits are available here.
